BETA helped the Maine Science Festival launch its inaugural event in 2015 and continued branding identity for the event through 2017 with distinctive campaigns that mixed playful Design, Social Media and Digital Ads to achieve strong branding and draw attention to this first-of-its kind, premier regional Science event.
The Maine Science Festival set to out to attract as large an audience as possible for its diverse schedule of events designed to target various age groups and interest levels.
BETA developed a new website for the festival and designed a 60-day campaign to drive traffic to the site using Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and real-world assets, including a high-visibility poster campaign.
As part of the campaign, various science facts were used as the focus of social media and print graphics, accompanied by the hashtag #ScienceIsEverywhere to reinforce the the Festival’s theme and “something for everyone” concept.
A strong digital advertising campaign was run on Facebook and Google Adwords to reach specific age groups and geographic locations, with a simultaneous retargeting campaign focused on visitors to the festival website, reinforcing the brand and event information to individuals who had already shown interest in the event. During the time when these ads were active, daily website traffic increased 300%.
During the festival, BETA arranged a team of photographers and social media leads to cover the over two dozen events of the fest, sharing live updates and conveying the overall excitement and buzz of those attending.
The event drew thousands of attendees, and in some cases had to turn attendees away from some of the smaller event venues. The website annually saw over 10,000 unique visitors in the 30-days leading up to and including the event.
